G Plan Fresco dining chairs

We were recently contacted by a client who was looking to have her G Plan Fresco dining chairs brought back to life. The chairs had huge sentimental value as they originally belonged to our client’s Nan, but didn’t particularly fit with the scheme in their new home. That's where we came in, and we were of course more than happy to help with such a stylish set of chairs!

G Plan Fresco dining chairs

British designer Victor Bramwell Wilkins designed the Fresco range for G Plan in 1966, which included furniture for almost every room in the house, all finished in beautiful teak with a rich grain. The Scandinavian influenced designs went on to become GPlan's most successful range of furniture.

After receiving samples for her chairs, the fabric our client decided on for the new upholstery was from the Bute ‘Magic’ collection, a recycled wool in a beautiful shade of pale pink. The fabric choice contrasts really nicely with the gorgeous teak wood, which Simion brought back to its former glory using Osmo oil (and a fair bit of elbow grease!)

We LOVE receiving insitu photographs from happy customers – and how stunning do the chairs look now they are back in their new home!

The same client asked if we could also produce some new seat cushions for her Ercol Studio couch, which was looking a little tired. The chosen fabric for this project was a lovely dark blue wool from the Linwood Lana collection, finished off with some scatter cushions in the same pale pink Bute fabric as the dining chairs to complete the look and tie the room together.
