Simion specialises in Danish midcentury chair restoration.
Amongst many others, the Egg™ lounge chair is a standout favourite.
Designed by prolific Architect Arne Jacobsen in 1958, Jacobsen is better known now for his iconic chair designs, the Ant, the Swan and of course the Egg™.
Jacobsen pioneered a new technique when he developed The iconic Egg™, sculpting a strong foam inner shell beneath the upholstery – the perfect shape being experimented on using clay in the designers garage.
Everything about this chair is truly unique, and taking on the job of upholstering it is no mean feat. When we tackle reupholstery of an Egg chair, it’s done by hand with over 400 hand stitches, a lot of patience and care. Choose your perfect fabric to combine with the aluminium star base, and commission a beautiful statement chair for your home.
There are many other Egg chair styles out there, which we’re always happy to restore. Reloved favourites include the GPlan 6250 and Greaves and Thomas Egg chair.
Since opening Reloved Upholstery in 2014, Simion has brought countless mid-century chairs back to life for a range of clients all around the UK and Europe.
Pictured are some of our favourites including beautiful Danish cocktail chairs, iconic orange peel chairs, Benchairs and GPlan butterfly back dining chairs.
There are so many gorgeous lounge chairs out there like the grey Atomic leg beauty pictured below, along with the Teak lounge chair by Centa which we reupholstered using fabric from Divine Savages for a stunning collaboration.
