London Landmarks Half Marathon for Mind Charity

If you follow Simion on social media or read his column in issue 54 of Reclaim magazine then you will know how open he is about his struggles with anxiety and depression.

For Simion, running is one of the activities that he finds helps the most with his mental health. Therefore the obvious choice when deciding to put himself forward for the London Landmarks Half Marathon was to run for the wonderful Mind charity.

Mind provide access and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of mental health. This is a charity close to Simion's heart so it was a no brainer when choosing a charity to support.

Simion tries to run as many times as he can through the week - but always on a Sunday come rain or shine, whether at home or away (he has even been known to run with icicles in his beard during the winter - see photographic evidence below!). He has been upping the training these last few weeks to make sure he's in the best shape possible for the half marathon. One of his favourite running spots in Manchester takes him along the canal to Altrincham, where he always admires the old Linotype works and thinks to himself what an amazing upholstery studio it could be!

Always one to embrace colour in his upholstery, Simion runs dressed in a rainbow of colours, another thing which makes him feel very happy. So if you happen to be in London the weekend of the run, you won't miss him flying by!

The London Landmarks Half Marathon takes place on the 1st August and if you'd like to show your support you can sponsor Simion and make a donation to Mind charity by visiting his Just Giving page here. Every penny is so appreciated, so as little or as much as you can spare would be amazing, and do spread the word if you can.

Thank you so much for your support!

Big Love
