Recycled fabric for your chairs and sofas

There’s a new trend taking the industry by storm – eco-upholstery. From luxury faux suede, made from from recycled microfibres, to hemp and organically grown cotton. It seems that now, almost anything is possible when it comes to eco/recycled fabric.  This is very exciting indeed.

As huge fans of wool, we had to add Kirkby Designs’ Recycled Leaf range to our list of favourites. This gorgeous collection is made completely of recycled wool fabric, that is ethical and beautiful. It has limited impact on the environment, as the collection uses salvaged yarns from the fashion industry, and is made with reconstituted wool from Italy.

We can use the Recycled Leaf fabric on any of our upholstery ranges, but we find it works really well on our Ercol loose covers. If you’re not familiar with this service, it’s a chance for you to upgrade your Ercol chairs and sofas at a fraction of the cost.  Find your chair or sofa in our store. Choose your colour and we will create your bespoke covers, complete with foam cushions pads, and post them to you direct.
