Reloved Works

Hello friends, I hope you're all safe and well.

I wanted to pop on here today because I'm super proud to be launching our fantastic new website! To celebrate, I thought I'd tell you a little bit about Reloved Works and what we get up to here.

Reloved Works is the creative studio of Reloved Upholstery and Design. But it's much more than that, which I'll tell you all about here.

I've always been interested in interiors and I love restoring things, which led me to start Reloved Upholstery and Design back in 2014.

I have a real passion for vintage chairs. The wonderful Parker Knoll Statesman is what I call my signature chair, and I'm lucky enough to work on lots of these for clients here in my workshop.

Other favourites of mine include the Iconic Egg by Arne Jacobson, the Gplan 6250, Greaves and Thomas Egg chair, Midcentury cocktail chairs, and many classic Ercol styles such as Ercol Windsor, Ercol Jubilee, Ercol Evergreen and of course the stunning Ercol Studio Couch, which I even have one of in my own home.

In 2018, I was lucky enough to move my business from a small workshop in central Manchester to a much larger space on the fourth floor of the wonderful Pear Mill.

If you're not familiar with Pear Mill, it's a stunning Edwardian cotton mill near Stockport, Greater Manchester. On the ground floor, is the wonderful Vintage Emporium, which I love to wander through on my way to the studio in the morning to start my day with lots of inspiration! Having this treasure trove of vintage finds so close to my studio, along with many other local contacts I have made through my business, means I'm always able to source fantastic furniture and objects for My Reloved Home, my interior styling company.

Having such a great studio space means that not only do I have ample room to run own upholstery courses, but also to invite other creatives to use the space for their workshops too! (When it's safe to do so of course).

To date, we've been lucky enough to welcome the lovely Sarah from Libby and Will to run her brilliant Macrame classes, Hannah from Tread Softly designs with her hands on Furniture Upcycling workshops, Silver Smithing with Noctua Jewellery, Floral Print Motif workshops with Rachael Taylor and many more wonderful creatives who, along with all of our lovely students have made Reloved Works become a hub of creativity. Check out our courses page to see everything we will have coming up as soon as we can.

To help me with all of this, I have my trusted studio manager, Nat, who joined #TeamReloved in early 2019. Alongside working with me, Nat is also a talented Surface Pattern designer. She runs her own small business, Natalie Laura Ellen, where she creates nature inspired fabric prints for homewares and accessories. Nat's cushions are in fact available to purchase in our online shop, along with our Stanley Chow Icon cushions. You'll hear more about Nat's creativity and our collaborations in the coming weeks!

We can't wait to see you all back in the Reloved Works studio, and welcome some new faces too.

If you'd like to find our more about our studio space, take a look at our Studio Hire page, and don't hesitate to get in touch with any queries.
