More upholstery courses for spring and summer

Following the success of my January and February courses.  I have added some more dates at the Old Granda Studios. Hurray!

My workshops will teach students the foundations of upholstery, while I hope to expand on classes to offer skills in chair making and paint techniques too.

Choose from one of three courses; One day cushion course, the cube footstool, and the ottoman, a large footstool that can also double as a coffee table. Both courses teach students the basics in modern upholstery, with some traditional techniques too, learn paint techniques using Reloved vintage paints and learn to make buttons.

On the day students were introduced to an array of tools, materials and equipment, including the Brother Innov-is F420** sewing machine. Easy to use even for the beginner but these machines are just that bit more robust to deal with heavier, upholstery fabric.

Courses are capped at four people. to maximise tuition time. Reloved workshop students will also be offered discounts on all fabric ranges including Flock Studio, Kirkby Design and St. Judes.

The Cube, two day workshop

• Thursday 19th and Friday 20th April 2018, 10am – 4pm
• Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 May 2018, 10am – 4pm
• Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 June 2018, 10am – 4pm

The Ottoman, two day workshop

The ottoman, a large footstool can also double up as a coffee table.  Firstly, students on the course will learn traditional upholstery skills, including slip stitching and making the buttons. Secondly, you will learn paint techniques tricks and tips, using Reloved vintage paints.
