We’re on TV: Watch us on BBC One
This week Gypsy and I make our debut TV appearance on BBC One’s Money for Nothing. Watch us with Jay and Sarah on Wednesday, 13 September at 4.30pm.
Last week the new celebrity series kicked off with great household names offering up unloved and unwanted items to be revived and sold for charity.
This week watch as we worked on a set of 1950’s pub stools that belonged to comedian Jon Culshaw.
The stools were restored by shot blasting the cast iron then powder coating the bases in three gorgeous pastel colours, to bring them bang up-to-date.To complement the bases, I used an on-trend geometric outdoor fabric from Kirkby Designs in similar pastel blue, pink and yellow. The stools now sit pride of place in Battersea pub, The Magic Garden.
More than just a TV show
As well as featuring in the celebrity season, Gypsy and I will also be gracing your screens for series four, transforming the weird, wonderful and unwanted items found at recycling centres across the UK.
Exciting as this is, there’s a real message behind the show. A message that really forms part of the Reloved ethos. Recycling and reusing.
Did you know that we send around 300,000 tonnes of reusable furniture to landfill in the UK each year? Around 50% of this is good furniture. It’s facts like this that make us determined to continue the work that we do; transforming unloved and tired vintage chairs and sofas to make them fit for a new generation of homes.
All items created for the show will be available to buy in our store. So keep a look out for more.
