Form & Colour – Twin Vintage Art Tables

Vintage Industrial Workbenches | Reclaimed Kitchen Islands | Bespoke Display Furniture

Introducing Form and Colour—two striking large vintage art tables, rich in charm, history, and individuality. Originally used as studio workbenches, they’ve been thoughtfully restored while retaining their original character, ready to take on new life in modern interiors.

Meet Form & Colour

Form is grounded and sculptural, with a rhythmic, earthy surface.
Colour is expressive and playful, layered with energy and joyful chaos.
Whether sold together or separately, they’re designed to bring soul, texture, and a sense of creative history to any interior.

These tables lived for a time in the Reloved Design studio, quietly inspiring countless creative projects. Their presence is felt in every layered brush mark and paint splash—reminders of decades of artistic use.

Built to Last – Crafted from Oak & Iroko

Each table features a solid oak base structure, topped with durable Iroko hardwood and finished in original vintage formica—a surface known for its strength and practicality in studios and schools throughout the mid-century. The tabletops still bear beautiful imperfections: worn paint layers, scuffs, and tactile texture—a visual diary of creative life.

To ensure longevity and modern usability, the tables have been fully restored:

  • Timber elements have been cleaned and treated with Rubio Monocoat VOC-free linseed oil, a plant-based finish that’s so safe it’s certified for use on children's wooden toys and food-contact surfaces.
(VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compounds—chemicals commonly found in paints and finishes that can release harmful emissions into the air. This oil is completely free from them.)

  • Formica tops have been professionally lacquered, giving a low-sheen protective coat that ensures lasting durability without erasing the history in the surface.

A Signature Reloved Design Touch

Each table has been fitted with bespoke, hand-fabricated “turn-ups” on the legs—like tailored trousers for furniture. This subtle, sculptural detail adds a contemporary twist while celebrating traditional joinery. Robust casters complete the look, offering both style and function for adaptable living or retail spaces. Please note that both tables can be purchased without the yellow, bespoke, fabricated casters at a reduce cost.

Ideal For:
