Reloved Restoration: Ercol 427 Chair – Number 2
From my vintage chair collection, this restored Ercol 427 is a perfect example of Japandi style – clean, timeless, and beautifully tactile. Every Reloved chair is one-of-a-kind, individually numbered, and never replicated, making this piece a true design original.
The frame has been expertly restored in my Manchester studio and finished with VOC-free linseed oil in Citrine, bringing out the natural glow of the elm and beech. The seat is rebuilt with eco-conscious padding made from recycled plastic bottles and upholstered in a rich mustard boucle fabric. The boucle adds elegance and warmth to any space – perfect for cosy evenings or enhancing your home décor.
The original Pirelli webbing has been replaced with brand-new webbing and secured using traditional copper rivets, ensuring long-lasting comfort and authenticity.
The Ercol 427 chair was originally designed as modular seating, but for me, it is the perfect reading chair – a statement piece that works beautifully in a living room, reading nook, or even a boutique hotel or commercial interior.
Every Reloved restoration carries a personal story:
-
Each chair includes a hidden embroidered dedication, a secret touch you can reveal to friends.
-
You’ll also receive a handmade Reloved keyring, crafted in my studio, so you can take a piece of your statement chair wherever you go.
